Process

From tree to green.

The lightweight, durable bark layer of the cork oak grows thick enough to be harvested once a decade, and every Salty Grip can be traced back to a specific oak grove in Portugal. We take rings of this premium-quality cork, seal them together in a stack, lathe them to our exact design specifications, and seal the grip with a water-resistant polymer.

After we engrave the grip, it's ready for you to install. We'll ship you instructions for care and installation. Our grips are smooth and comfortable, and a square of sandpaper can give you as rough or fine a texture as you prefer. Cork is naturally resilient but will develop a patina over time. To restore your grip to its original feel and hue, give it a light brush with fine-grit sandpaper.
